This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
What isn’t broken doesn’t need to be fixed.
Earnest pop-rock trio Audiochrome clearly understand that concept — they recorded this sophomore set with the same production team behind their 2002 debut Fears. But even if they don’t reinvent their own wheel, they do manage to improve it slightly, delivering 25 strongly crafted minutes of minor-key melody, stirring poignancy and burnished production.
STYLE: Emotional power ballads.
SOUNDS LIKE: Art with its heart on its sleeve.
STANDOUT: Compromise distinguishes itself with its rockier beat and radio-ready guitars.
