This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
Calling The Perpetrators a great blues band is nothing short of a backhanded compliment. Really, they’re just a great band who happen to play the blues.
And on this killer sophomore set, they play ’em all kindsa ways — fast, slow, tough, tender, loud, laid-back. More importantly, they play ’em better than almost anybody else, with plenty of greasy guitar licks, smokin’ solos, in-the-pocket grooves and sandpaper vocals. Will somebody give these guys a record deal already?
STYLE: 12-bar blues, straight up, no chaser.
SOUNDS LIKE: The perfect soundtrack to a Saturday night barnburner with your friends Jack Daniel and Jim Beam.
STANDOUTS: Every one of these 10 tunes is a keeper, but the droning Delta hoodoo of Roller Coaster Love takes it in a whole new direction — and to a whole new level.
