Staytus Slow-Grinds With The King Knight

The emerging electro-industrial artist expands her Twisted Frames series with a haunting exploration of identity and transformation.

Staytus serves up a soundtrack for the supernatural with her hauntingly seductive new single King Knight — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

The ascendant industrial-electronic artist is back with the third installment in her Twisted Frames series with a darkly hypnotic track inspired by Matthew Gray Gubler’s occult-driven horror comedy.

Blending electro-industrial and nu-metal elements with introspective, supernatural-tinged lyrics, King Knight is an immersive journey into self-discovery, breaking free from past illusions, and stepping into something more powerful. Produced by Matt McJunkins (A Perfect Circle) at Secret Hand Studios, the track builds upon Staytus’ signature fusion of raw emotion and heavy-hitting industrial soundscapes.

Staytus describes King Knight as an exploration of personal transformation and embracing the unknown: “King Knight is about shedding the lies we tell ourselves and finding the truth in the darkness. The film’s mix of satire and occult themes really resonated with me, and I wanted to channel that energy into the music. Sometimes, stepping into who you really are means letting go of everything that held you back.”

The lyrics reflect a journey of self-reckoning and mystical awakening, set against an eerie and cinematic backdrop:

“I fell in love with the darkness, found my other half far away
Send my love to the darkness, as I watch it fade.”

With pounding industrial beats, layered synths, and an unrelenting atmosphere, King Knight cements itself as a powerful chapter in the Twisted Frames series. Complementing the single, Staytus will unveil a video for King Knight on April 24, bringing the song’s haunting imagery to life reflecting the themes of self-identity, transformation, and the supernatural.
