Classic Album Review: Jack Johnson | In Between Dreams

This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

If the strummy acoustic folk-pop tunes on surfin’ singer-songwriter Jack Johnson’s third disc In Between Dreams were a weather forecast, they’d be sunny and breezy.

If they were a state of mind, they’d be laid-back and unfailingly positive. If they were a scent, they’d be a mix of patchouli and the beach. If they were backyard furniture, they’d be a hammock under an old tree. If they were watercraft, they’d be a surfboard, a canoe or maybe an inner tube. If they were a member of Simon and Garfunkel, they’d be Paul Simon. And if they were any more relaxing, the vice squad would seize them.
