Corey Streets | Camaro: Exclusive Video Premiere

The rising singer shifts into a seductive gear with his laid-back track and video.

Corey Streets invites you to take a cruise in his Camaro in his sexy and chill new single and video — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist.

A preview of the LGBTQ+ artist’s upcoming EP Streetsmart, Camaro offers a smooth blend of pop and R&B vibes, wrapped into a seductive ballad.

Like much of his work, Camaro is inspired by his upbringing. Corey grew up in Rochester, N.Y., and both of his parents passed away when he was young due to addiction. Growing up poor, and ending up homeless and on the streets at one point — which inspired his stage name — taught him how to be self-reliant and dream big. Being biracial and queer, Corey struggled to find himself as a kid and endured bullying. Music was his way to cope with feeling like he didn’t belong; now his goal is to share his experiences to alleviate others feeling the same.

Corey admits he used to “tame” the sexual aspect of his work, but this represents a shift. “Riding in the Camaro to some can be heard as enjoying a great moment with someone you love, but also the lyrics allow the listener to think about possible alternate meanings,” he explains. “Riding in the Camaro through the night, meaning sex! Yes, Camaro was written to allude to a night with a lover. In the music video you’ll see a surprise guest come into the fantasy of Camaro that provides a more clear understanding of the actual meaning behind the song.”

Watch the video above, listen to the track below, and catch Corey Streets at the Queer Music Festival in New York City at Bowery Electric on April 14, as well as other scheduled dates this spring and summer on both coasts.
