THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Marrying psychedelic pop with folk and a touch of country, Earthling On The Road To Self Love is the sublime debut album by Brisbane singer-songwriter Baby Cool — the latest side project by Nice Biscuit co-frontwoman Grace Cuell.
“The songs on this album are deeply sentimental,” she says. “I have a lot I need to sing about to help me make sense of this earthly pod I have been gifted. If in singing these words out loud, I can help others find solace in knowing that we’re all out here flailing about in the cosmos, then it feels good to me.”
Recorded with Sam Joseph (Family Jordan), the songs on Earthling… features contributions from Jess Ferronato (Nice Biscuit), Nick Cavendish (Nice Biscuit) and Drew Heyden (The Flamingo Jones). “I had such a beautiful community of friends that helped bring this whole thing to life,” says Cuell. “There was magic and love in every part of the process of creating this album.”
