Agressivo Nyandoro | Validé

HOME BASE: Democratic Republic of the Congo.
GENRE: World.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Take a journey to the heart of Africa with Agressivo Nyandoro. Born in Lubumbashi, he encountered art at an early age. It became an important part of his life, so he first joined the choir. He is in love with music. His first Single Dunia Ina Poteya IThe World Is Lost) had a huge success in 2013. The same year, his song Butshungu Buthadjo reinforced this success. With immersive energy, Agressivo Nyandoro blasted into 2021 with live perfomances that stick to people’s mind. In 2022 new territories are ahead.”

Adavity x Camille Duboisset | Entracte

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: Hip-Hop Jazz.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Adavity approaches the saxophone against the current with a more current trap/jazz approach, and collaborates with people in the rap world such as Kikesa or Le Regulation. Young trumpeter Camille Duboisset also has a very modern approach to his instrument, which allows him to explore all kinds of musical styles. Entracte is a single from their new album Dyade. At the border of hip-hop, jazz, trap and pop, their 100% instrumental album is a musical revolution, that tells a story from the first to the last minute.”

Rodeo FM | Right Wing Planet

HOME BASE: Germany.
GENRE: Americana.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “It is 2022. The world is in shambles. Imperialist wars, climate disaster, exploitation, you name it. The abyss between the rich and poor is getting wider by the minute. Rodeo FM’s new single Right Wing Planet laments this despicable state of affairs in classic toe-tapping, dance floor-shaking Rodeo FM manner. It could make you want to sing along — if only those lyrics weren’t so dire.”

Quiet Sonia | In My Arms Many Flowers

HOME BASE: Denmark.
GENRE: Chamber-Folk.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE:Quiet Sonia are a Copenhagen chamber-rock septet performing the folk-influenced compositions of songwriter and guitarist Nikolaj Bruus. In My Arms Many Flowers is a midnight lullaby, a shimmering and mournful tone-poem — partly addressed to a good friend in need, partly poetically informed by present-day and historical horrors of war — about gathering strength and maintaining hope in the face of great unspeakable sorrow and tragedy. A sprawling, detailed and ornamented long-form composition — at times ghostly and almost baroque in expression — In My Arms Many Flowers is both adventurous and romantic, nocturnal and bleak. It is the first single from Quiet Sonia’s EP All Black Horses Came Thundering, out Nov. 11. “In My Arms Many Flowers was my first serious attempt at writing a composition with finger-picked guitar inspirered by American Primitivism figures such as Robbie Basho, Leo Kottke and James Blackshaw,” says Bruus. “I was also inspired by the seemingly free-flowing yet tightly composed melody-writing of contemporary jazz artists such as Tigran Hamasyan and Avishai Cohen, and the work with silence, texture and dynamics in early post-rock, modern classical and classic ECM recordings.”

Izarry | Crazy

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: Pop.

After two years of touring, he released Plexus Solaire at the end of 2019, radically taking the opposite view from his usual universe: An electro-rock side, an acoustic side, with always the same interest in the challenges of society. 2022 marks his great return to rock.”

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: Rap.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Born in Boulogne-Billancourt, Flem has always navigated between musical trends. With or without all the gold in the world, you have to live simply. This is the philosophy of life defended by Ladj and Flem on their new single Simplement.”

Deep As Bones | Spun

HOME BASE: United States.
GENRE: Hard Rock.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Christian hard rock band Deep As Bones formed in the Arizona State Prison Complex in Florence in 2016. Rodney Scott Pieres, John Fabricius and Walter Willis wrote 10 songs in the prison band room. Upon release, the three of them went into the studio with producer Jay Kereny (Linkin Park) to start recording. Jay introduced them to drummer Dan Johnson, who played on the record. Ralph Patlan (Megadeth) completed the process by mixing and mastering the record. Pieres coined the band’s name to honour his Christian roots, as “the word of God is as deep as bones.” From incarceration and addiction to redemption, sobriety and righteous living: Phoenix’s Deep As Bones have released a video for their single Spun, which deals with breaking free from addiction’s grip and being on the road to recovery and sobriety.”

Amanda Bourneuf | Tant De Guerres

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: Pop- Rock.
THE TRANSLATED & EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Dream: An injunction as much as a path of life that everyone traces as they imagine it. It is surrounded by talented musicians, with whom she has arranged each of the titles in the studio, that Amanda Bourneuf enjoins us to dream. Tant De Guerres (Time Of War) can be disconcerting: if we immediately think of the war in Ukraine, we immediately take the measure of a universal text celebrating the survival that we owe to the dream. Each of the tracks was arranged in a group, in the studio with real instruments. Lea Fortin Rechin on the piano, Grégoire Fortin on the guitar, Laurent Baron on the drums and Gérard Antoine Roy on the bass contribute to making her new EP Rêve that of a real ensemble.”

Abbie Quinn | Scream For Me (Halloween Party Remix) + I Just Keep Slipping

HOME BASE: United States.
GENRE: Pop.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: ““I am a solo artist. I am also the guest solo nose-flautist for the Terlawk Philharmonic Orchestra. I write, arrange, sing, play all the instruments (except some loops), and produce all my songs. I also pick up the pizzas, sweep the floors and ever since he went missing, I help Neo’s landlady carry out her garbage. I am not self-taught. I have been taught by every song I have ever heard. The good. The bad. And YES, even the ugly! I play guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and percussion (with varying degrees of success). I also play nose-flute, checkers, and a bad game of goodmitten! Wait, I mean a good game of badminton. I have written and performed my own music since I was 14 (with varying degrees of success). Also, one time, I stayed up past midnight. I produce my music on archaic equipment (with wildly varying degrees of success). I suppose I could produce it on modern equipment; but then I wouldn’t be able to use the word “archaic” when describing it. Scream For Me is a story. The band is introduced. They start playing. The two main characters have a comic exchange. End: Pandemonium! I Just Keep Slipping is a powerful pop song with a great hook and interesting melody.”

Ulrich Jannert | It’s Not Over Till It’s Over

HOME BASE: Germany.
GENRE: Neo-Classical.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “The track is purely instrumental; the saxophone sets the mood and is the voice of the track. No words, no voice should destroy the listeners’ associations when diving into the vibes. The song is very chill, dreamy and easy to listen to. It starts with a leading piano flow which builds up, with more and more instruments expanding and filling the room. The music style is meant to create reflective and positive vibes. It’s a soft song, very melodic, but with deep thoughtful bars and a bouncy dance esthetic. The song is also a double entendre — the listeners think we’re speaking about women but it also can be about a higher power. It was written, produced and engineered with my collaborator xae. Drea Lake | Dreaming Peacefully

HOME BASE: Canada.
GENRE: Folk.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “One thing that has always made Canadian music unique is artists’ close relationships with the environment. Singer-songwriter Drea Lake is directly connected to that tradition. Splitting her time between Montreal and Elora, Ont., Drea is poised to release her third single, Dreaming Peacefully. Based around a propulsive, finger-picked acoustic guitar, it paints a hopeful picture of the power of friendship and memory, tied together by Drea’s caressing vocals. The song finds Drea reuniting with producer/guitarist Antoine Dufour. “I am really proud of this recording,” she says. “This song came after an evening with a very old friend who I had not seen in about 20 years. She reminded me of another old friend and told me a tale about him and where his life had taken him. I was shocked by the juxtaposition of his present circumstances and my most recent and vivid memory of him: a peaceful and extremely sweet day at Canada’s Wonderland when we were both 17.
