Albums Of The Week: Sonic Flower | Me And My Bell Bottom Blues

These Japanese psychedelic-stoner riff-masters should get your motor running.

THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE:Sonic Flower’s new album Me And My Bellbottom Blues is full of ’70s feelings. It’s heavy but more bluesy taste than ever. New guitarist Fumiya Hattori is a young bluesman. He uses slide bar and acoustic guitar too. His guitar style’s width is huge.

Regarding song writing, of course Tatsu Mikami wrote the songs as always. they are not only heavy and packed with riffs, but also have a down-to-earth feeling.

New drummer Toshiaki Umemura made a heavy and groovy sound. Of course, the difference from their previous albums is that Sonic Flower have a singer on this album. Kazuhiro Asaeda is the original Church Of Misery vocalist — he sang on their early release Vol.1. Tatsu made a tag team with him again and the result is truly  amazing. Tatsu thinks “This album is the best work in my carrier.”
