Classic Album Review: The Bay City Rollers | Rollerworld: Live at the Budokan Tokyo 1977

The tartan terrors deliver a slate of vintage hits. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

This came out in 2001 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

That’s right — live versions of Rock-n-Roll Love Letter, Saturday Night and a whole bunch of other Bay City Rollers, um, classics, recorded at the height of Rollermania in Japan. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

But you know what’s even scarier? The tartan terrors cover David Bowie’s Rebel, Rebel. And most frightening of all: If this is a sign of things to come, the Backstreet Boys could have a live album in the year 2025.
