Tinnitist TV | Episode 7: Chris Vos of The Record Company

The singer-guitarist of the L.A. trio talks about their new album Play Loud & more.

Play Loud is The Record Company’s third studio album — but it’s also a disc of many firsts for the Los Angeles trio fronted by Wisconsin-raised singer-guitarist Chris Vos.

The record is the 10-year-old band’s first album to be produced by Grammy winner Dave Sardy (Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, Modest Mouse). It’s their first to feature collaborations with outside songwriters. And most importantly, it finds the Grammy-nominated group — which also includes Alex Stiff (bass, backing vocals), and Marc Cazorla (drums, backing vocals) — stretching out artistically and exploring their far-flung musical influences, adding elements of pop, soul, funk, Brit-rock and more to their blues-based sound for the first time. Vos and I spoke about all of this and more during a recent chat. Enjoy.
