Lou-Adriane Cassidy | J’Espère Encore Que Quelque Part L’Attente S’Arrête

HOME BASE: Canada.
GENRE: Indie-Rock.
THE TRANSLATED & EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Quebec singer-songwriter Lou-Adriane Cassidy returns with J’Espère Encore Que Quelque Part L’Attente S’Arrête, the first single from her second album due out in the fall. The singer-songwriter sheds her old sobriety and instead plunges into the absence of restraint, giving way to a register of more assumed arrangements. The pleasure of the stage is transposed into the rhythm of the recorded piece, setting the tone for the rest of the album. Particularly inspired by the artist Mitski, Cassidy puts forward her unbridled sensuality, in the style of the grunge of the ’90s. Freedom resounds like the cry of a woman breaking her last barrier. The nocturnal performance captured by Gabriel Lapointe takes place in the heart of the city.”

Roquemore | Long Way Out

HOME BASE: Canada.
GENRE: Orch-Rock.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE:Roquemore are a new beat-driven, baroque-orchestral rock project. Wrought from late-night sessions in Montreal’s Mile-End basements and recording studios, Roquemore’s session-beats grab robust baselines to trap sprawling arrangements into compact grooves. Roquemore’s debut single Blame sounds like a cross of early Arcade Fire and Massive Attack. Expect tragic string arrangements, compact grooves and tormented vocals, but boy, what a beauty. The album delivers a grandiose dramatic beat driven orchestral indie-rock album — a carefully crafted and heartfelt collection of songs about universal feelings of doubt, entrapment, chaos and hope. The music glides in a gracious movement between basic contradictory human feelings.”

Loving Backwards | Finally

HOME BASE: Israel.
GENRE: Indie-Rock.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE:The Loving Backwards’ sound is symbolic to the style of art & media of current times: Psychedelic rock tunes that should have lasted eight minutes but are compressed into three-minute musical voyages, matching the sound of then with the ears of now. Loving Backwards are an upcoming psych-rock band from Tel Aviv, the avant-garde brainchild of Tel Aviv composer, guitarist & vocalist Or Izekson (founder of the alt-folk group Prophecy Playground), and producer, arranger & multi-instrumentalist Ziv Grinberg. Finally serves as the second single from their upcoming debut album. It’s a catchy and upbeat alternative-rock tune about the bittersweet emotional insight in realizing that things are not what you meant them to be. Unlike most of Izekson’s materials, this song has a relatively simple harmony and solid structure, blended with a touch of humor. The single is accompanied by an abstract video clip directed & performed by Lila Wiselberg, which demonstrates Lila’s unique visual artistry and versatile forms of expression through bizarre imagery and chaotic story outline.”

Peter Lake | Black Corridor

HOME BASE: United States.
GENRE: Pop-Rock.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE:Peter Lake is a New York City singer-songwriter who revels in anonymity. His musical influences include Curtis Mayfield, Motown, Billie Eilish and Rüfüs Du Sol. Therefore, it’s no surprise that he has not stuck to one genre, dabbling in rock, pop, indie, and house. Lake’s philosophy of music making is that by combining genres, the range of song creation is increased. A song that successfully incorporates and connects the positive aspects of different musical styles has the potential to be more universally appealing than any song in history. Lake says: “Black Corridor is based on the concept of two worlds: the outside world, and your inside world. The outside world is what you experience the second you step outside your home, or when you aren’t with your significant other. The inner world is what you create with someone you love, a safe space with your inside jokes, and growth between the two of you. When the inside world suddenly turns dark when your significant other leaves you, you’re left in this black hole, or as I call it, a black corridor. Especially when you’re young, your inner world with your significant other becomes your everything, and watching it crash down while the outside world around you is as chaotic as it is, was detrimental to me.”

Dorian Ruiz | Danse Avec Moi

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: Pop.
THE TRANSLATED & EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE:Dorian Ruiz presents his new track, Danse Avec Moi, offering a new facet of his artistic personality. Danse Avec Moi is an invitation to dance, clear and unequivocal. Its fresh and catchy clip reveals the dancer in Dorian Ruiz. The movements of the body carry with them the movement of passing time. Dorian exists in the moment. Dorian wears many hats: Producer, director, author, composer, performer and dancer.”

Zoe Mazah | Lovely Day

HOME BASE: Germany.
GENRE: Reggae.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “The Liberian/German singer-songwriter Zoe Mazah is writing soul-infused reggae songs of big and small emotions close to her thoughts and feels. The man is also a great live entertainer who had recorded more than 12 albums. In Superstar, disco meets Bantunani’s electro sound in lyrics like “Life is and must stay a big jam party where everyone can be a superstar.” And in the space of three intense minutes, Bantunani gives a disco moment where dance, dreams and pleasure merge in a night guided by voodoo trance. On the latest single from his album Perspectives, the artist offers a haunting interpretation that carries a touching melody not unlike The Bee Gees and Giorgio Moroder.”

Jaxl | Dance With Me

HOME BASE: France.
GENRE: Funk-Rock.
THE EDITED BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Picture a world where our rock gods are almost all gone, deprived of the last bits of freedom we once took for granted. Root it in a viral and musical pandemic. Out comes Jaxl, a collective of musicians, deeply rooted in what they think is kicking ass in music: Freedom & pulse, melody, uncompromising celebration of self, probably and certainly assumed retro, but hey? Why not? Rock on! Dance with them!”

Lady London has pushed and pulled me into many directions as expressed in the chorus: ‘You act in a way that I don’t understand, and I try to romance any way that i can.’ The song was born from the frustration of being addicted to the city and its offerings, whilst not having the means to survive it. This soul / R&B style is a new sound for me.”

Tewksbury: “With this album, I wanted to create moments of stillness and beauty in the face of looming disaster. I don’t know if art can save us, but it seems especially important right now.” Sitaantaago Elegy is a neo-classical/ambient piano work.”
