Green Grizz Drops The Drip

The California rapper hits the desert in his wildly entertaining new song and video.

Green Grizz makes a splash with his wonderfully weird single and video The Drip — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

Inspired by Erykah Badu and Juice Wrld, the game-changing hip-hop whiz kid displays a mountain of charisma, self-charm, and confidence on the wildly entertaining and playfully enigmatic cut. Surprisingly, he says it’s his first mainstream single. Less surprisingly, he claims some of his oddball lyrics came to him in a dream. “It’s a beautiful thing,” he says.

Indeed it is. The accompanying video only bolsters Grizz’s penchant for unabashedly laying it all bare (in more ways than one). Decked out in his signature green, the models, protégé and accessories in the video all inhabit a patch of the desert near his California home. “We made it a ghost town,” he explains. “Once you get to living out here, you feel comfortable everywhere you go.” But Green Grizz isn’t going anywhere; he’s here to stay. “COVID leaving, 2020 been gone,” he promises. “It’s time to boss up about this money.”
