Radio Birdman's founder resurrects his long-long 1992 solo album.

THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Garage rock legend and Radio Birdman founder Deniz Tek has reissued his groundbreaking solo album Take It To The Vertical for the first time since it was released in 1992. This amazing album has been long out of print, rare, and nearly impossible to find. Recorded at historic SugarHill Studios in Houston, the album features Radio Birdman’s Chris Masuak on guitar and keyboards, and The StoogesScott Asheton on drums.

Tek is a guitarist, singer/songwriter and record producer from Ann Arbor, Mich. His career in music, grounded in late-’60s Detroit rock, extends through several decades and across continents. He is best known as a founding member of the influential and groundbreaking Australian independent hard rock band Radio Birdman. Tek has toured internationally with The MC5 and has made live guest appearances with many notable artists, including The Stooges and Mitch Ryder. He has had a prolific recording career, having played on more than 70 original releases. His roster of collaborators includes Roy Head, James Williamson, Wayne Kramer, Dennis Thompson, Ron Asheton, Scott Asheton, Scott Morgan, Ric Parnell and Keith Streng.

In 2007, he was inducted into the Australian Music Hall of Fame with Radio Birdman. In 2013, Australian Guitar Magazine ranked Tek No. 7 in the 100 all-time greatest guitar players of Australia. His most recent album is a collaboration with Stooges guitarist James Williamson. Their album Two To One was released in 2020.”
