Classic Album Review: Burning Heads | Escape

French punks grab you by the collar & drag you through 30 minutes of pure power.

This album came out two decades ago. Here’s what I had to say about it back then (with some minor editing):

More like No Escape. You can run but you can’t hide from the undeniable potency and unstoppable momentum of hardcore punk classicists Burning Hearts — who hail from Orleans, France, believe it or not.

What you better believe, though, is that you haven’t heard a punk album this pure and powerful in some time. Packing 15 skate-punk anthems into just over 30 minutes, Escape grabs you by the collar and drags you headlong through tune after tune bursting with Clash and Rancid-inspired riffs and vocals, breakneck double-time drumbeats, songs that go from simmering to soaring at the drop of a Doc Marten and even a shot of ragamuffin riddim for variety. Escape will be the last thing on your mind.
