Late-Night TV Music (Mods & Much More Edition) | Oct. 29, 2020

If all this isn't enough to keep you awake on a Friday morning, I give up.

There are many reasons to like Seth Meyers. But today, I can’t think of a better one than this: The fantastic Sleaford Mods were on Late Night‘s Thursday edition, debuting a new track — the typically acerbic and scrappy Mork N Mindy — from their just-announced new album Spare Ribs, which arrives Jan. 15. You simply can’t top that — though I have to admit the rest of the Late-Night TV Music regulars gave it a pretty good shot.To wit:

Jimmy Kimmel Live took us to the desert to watch Perfume Genius and his band get down ’n’ dirty with Jason and Nothing At All. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon delivered a dose of party-hearty twang with the Brothers Osborne’s All Night. The Late Late Show With James Corden showcased Jack Peñate’s smouldering performance of No One Lied. And finally, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert — another host you have to love — featured not one but two tunes from pop god Sam Smith, in the form of Love Goes and Kids Again. If all that isn’t enough to keep you awake on a Friday morning, I give up.
