Late-Night TV Music (Cut To The Chase Edition) | Oct. 26, 2020

The Shins, Jeff Tweedy and Rina Sawayama get it done. 24kGoldn, not so much.

I‘ve got 16 things to do today — and about the same number of functioning brain cells. So I’m gonna cut right to the chase: For me, Monday’s best Late-Night TV Music clip has to be James Mercer and The Shins’ fitting split-personality performance of The Great Divide (get it?) on The Late Late Show With James Corden. Though I could totally understand if you preferred Jeff Tweedy leading his family-centric solo band through Guess Again for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Heck, I could even get behind Rina Sawayama’s above-average pop number XS on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. As for 24kGoldn and Iann Dior’s collaborative number Mood — apparently set in some weird high-tech, post-apocalyptic desert junkyard — well, you’re on your own there. Enjoy the rest of your day. I know I sure won’t.
