Late-Night TV Music (On & Off The Air Edition) | July 29, 2020

Lianne La Havas' performance is so good it didn't even need to be broadcast.

The best TV isn’t always on TV. Case in point: Lianne La Havas‘ gorgeous Roundhouse performance of Bittersweet was clearly the musical highlight of Wednesday’s late-night programming — even though it only appears on the YouTube channel for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, which is on hiatus this week. Of course, it’s not like she had a lot of competition. The only other musical act in the running (and on the air) was Charlie Wilson, channeling The Four Tops with his number One I Got on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Don’t get me wrong; I have nothing but love for Uncle Charlie. But let’s face it: On this night, they don’t come better than La Havas. Judge for yourself.
