Late-Night TV Music (Bounce Back Edition) | March 4, 2020

Iggy Pop, Jane Birkin and Local Natives snap this week's losing streak.

All bad things must come to an end. Thankfully, that includes this week’s streak of mediocre music on late-night TV. After two evenings of forgettable fare and unmitigated silliness, things took a step or two in the right direction on Wednesday when living legends Iggy Pop and Jane Birkin teamed up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to duet on Serge Gainsbourg’s classic Elisa. For those who prefer North American pop-rock to French cabaret balladry, Jimmy Kimmel Live had you covered with a double dose of Local Natives, who took to the outdoor stage to play Dark Days and When Am I Gonna Lose You. OK, it’s not exactly Paul McCartney playing on The Late Show’s outdoor sign or Van Halen closing down Hollywood Boulevard. But hey, beggars and choosers, right?
