Late-Night TV Music (Returnabout Edition) | Feb. 26, 2020

Soccer Mommy, Doja Cat & Princess Nokia put women back in the spotlight.

Turnabout is fair play. And we’re seeing plenty of it on this week’s late-night TV music scene. After a female-centric Monday lineup — followed by a dude-based Tuesday roster — the women retook the spotlight on Wednesday. Doja Cat transformed The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’s studio into Studio 54 for her new single Say So. Singer-songwriter Soccer Mommy dished up a double dose of her slow-burn indie-rock with performances of Circle The Drain and Lucy on Jimmy Kimmel Live. And Princess Nokia showed off two of her multiple personalities, shifting from hip-hop to during a medley of Practice/Green Eggs & Ham on The Late Late Show With James Corden. Will this gender-based back-and-forth continue tonight or will the pattern be broken? Turn up tomorrow and see for yourself.
