After I posted last week’s list, some folks online started counting how many of the bands they’d actually heard of (which I found interesting), and wondering whether said count had anything to do with their age (which I found even more interesting). For the record, I haven’t heard of a lot of these artists or albums either. But here’s the thing: I sincerely want to hear as many of them as I can. It’s like I tweeted on Sunday, paraphrasing Shaw: We don’t stop listening to new music because we grow old; we grow old because we stop listening to new music. So consider every name on the list a chance to find your new favourite artist. Let the body count begin.
