Late-Night TV Music (Pop Edition) | Sept. 11, 2019

Iggy gets into the groove, Mika doubles down & Vampire Weekend offer Sympathy.

Any day Iggy Pop is on TV is a good day, far as I’m concerned. Especially when he’s singing a song as groovy as James Bond, one of the standout cuts from his just-released album Free — which is exactly what the godfather of punk was up to Wednesday night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, with the help of Sarah Lipstate, jazz trumpeter Leron Thomas and The Roots. Also popping up on the late-night music lineup Wednesday: Mika, doing double duty on Late Night With Seth Meyers with the upbeat Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) and the lush Tiny Love; and Vampire Weekend performing Sympathy on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Have a good day.
