Late-Night TV Music (Sting Edition) | April 26, 2019

The Police vet and his solo band play a rousing Demolition Man for Fallon.

I can’t remember the last time I posted anything about late-night TV music on a Saturday. After all, most of the talk shows air reruns on Friday. Only The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert broadcast new episodes, and Colbert’s show is usually cobbled together from leftovers and extras. So that leaves Fallon — and usually he has a standup comic or a magician instead of a band on Friday. All of which is a long way of getting around to the fact that this week he switched it up and had Sting on the show. And the former Police singer-bassist played a pretty rousing version of Demolition Man with his solo band. And it was impressive enough that I figured you might want to check it out. So here you go. Enjoy. You may now return to your regular Saturday programming.
