Late-Night TV Music (Gray Lamb Edition) | March 6, 2019

David Gray strikes up the bland on another slow night for televised tunes.

It seems March has come in like a lamb — particularly when it comes to the late-night talk show music scene. Wednesday was another slow night in a slow week, with just one performer gracing the airwaves. That would be soft-centred singer-songwriter David Gray, who took to his piano on Jimmy Kimmel Live to croon The Sapling and A Tight Ship from his new album Gold in a Brass Age. Neither one will get your fist or your blood pumping, though there’s some nice syncopated drum work in the first number. And dull as things may seem now, remember: If the lamb/lion adage holds true, the end of the month should totally rock out.
