Late-Night TV Music (Key of B Edition) | Feb. 7, 2019

Beirut, Broods, a boy band and Boygenius's Lucy Dacus are letter-perfect.

Gimme a B! Gimme another B! Gimme another B! And gimme one more B! What’s that spell? Well, nothing, really. But it does tell you which letter was behind the music on Thursday night’s talk shows. First off, esoteric indie outfit Beirut delivered the toreador-horned title cut from their just-released Gallipoli album to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Then sibling-led New Zealand indie-popsters Broods showed up on The Late Late Show With James Corden to present their hooky single Too Proud. Jimmy Kimmel Live (and a horde of screaming teen girls) welcomed bigtime boy band Why Don’t We to the outdoor stage for performances of 8 Letters and Big Plans (they also uploaded another 15 minutes of bonus footage, but I’m not cruel enough to subject you to that). And finally, Last Call With Carson Daly continued to parcel out performances from a recent gig by indie supergroup Boygenius — last night was Lucy Dacus’s turn in the spotlight with The Shell and Nonbeliever. Praise B.
