Late-Night TV Music (Potluck Edition) | Jan. 30, 2019

Luis Fonsi, Phosphorescent and Emily King serve up a three-course TV dinner.

Some nights the talk-show musical lineup is like a well-orchestrated dinner party. On Wednesday it was more of a potluck, with everybody bringing something different to the table. Luis Fonsi brought the spicy Latin dance grooves of Imposible to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Singer-songwriter Phosphorescent — a.k.a. Matthew Houck — delivered the homespun sincerity and wistful wisdom of C’est La Vie to The Late Late Show With James Corden. And Emily King served two helpings of catchy dance-pop — Can’t Hold Me (above) and Look At Me Now (below) — on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Don’t save room for dessert. There isn’t any.
