Late-Night TV Music (Leftovers Edition) | Nov. 28, 2018

Fresh cuts from J.I.D. and Lauv join some reheated talk-show clips.

It’s been a week since American Thanksgiving, but most of the late-night talk shows are still on holiday (or might as well be). Only The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is truly back up to speed — they brought out newly minted rap phenom J.I.D. to showcase his song Skrawberries with the help of BJ The Chicago Kid and bassist Thundercat. Not to be outdone, The Late Late Show With James Corden offered its own pop pairing when Lauv teamed with Julia Michaels for his featherweight number There’s No Way. And Stephen Colbert returned to the Late Show just in time for a performance by Sara Bareilles, delivering the darkly rolling Armor with her double-drumming band. And that was all she wrote when it came to new tunes. So, to give you something else to watch, here are Fallon’s musical guests from earlier in the week: Mike WiLL Made-It, Swae Lee and Young Thug‘s rendition of Fate from the Creed II soundtrack, and Blood Orange‘s predictably eccentric performance of Charcoal Baby. Save room for pie.
