Indie Roundup | Six new videos to check out right now

New clips from Low, Colyn Cameron, Rachel Eckroth, Ceramic Dog and plenty more.

Every day, I get press releases from indie bands and labels with new songs, albums and videos to hype. Here’s the latest batch:

1 | Low unveil the video for Poor Sucker, from their brilliant new album Double Negative. SEZ THE PRESS RELEASE: “Low’s Alan Sparhawk gets a makeover in the official video for Poor Sucker, directed by Karlos Rene Ayala.” Face the music above.

2 | Colyn Cameron (a.k.a. Wake Owl) presents the video for his song Hallucinations, from his Oct. 12 release Sad & Easy. SEZ THE PRESS RELEASE: “Directed by Cameron, his goal was to ‘make a mini western themed sequence of moments that capture the intimacy and vulnerability of being imperfect whilst in love. I wanted to humorously reveal the defeat of the main male character.’ ” Go west, young fan:

3 | Singer-songwriter Rachel Eckroth continues to preview her album When It Falls with the video for Strangest Dream. SEZ THE PRESS RELEASE: “Directed by Derek A. Welte, Strangest Dream is inspired by grooves and textures of Beck and Fink and features Derek Trucks playing an angry solo as well as ethereal harmonies from Carlos Ricketts from John Mayer’s band. The video matches the track title… super trippy and dream-like.” Take the fall:

4 | Ceramic Dog — the trio of gutiarist Marc Ribot, bassist Shahzad Ismaily and drummer Ches Smith — pop off about a certain Supreme Court nominee in the video for Beer. SEZ THE PRESS RELEASE: “We like beer too. But we sure hate sexual assault, and super privileged machos who think they can get away with anything, and congresspeople who enable them. If this means we’re going to ‘reap the whirlwind,’ let’s make the most of it!” Drink up:

5 | Rockers Royal Tusk drop the video for the single Aftermath from their upcoming album. SEZ THE PRESS RELEASE:Aftermath was inspired by the idea that our culture (especially youth culture) is being desensitized to violence through an overload of media and information,” says vocalist Daniel Carriere. “While wrestling with ideas of isolation, violence, tragedy, and authoritarianism, Aftermath asks what we may see looking back when this ever-volatile present has become a distant memory.” Fight back:

6 | Prog crew Tomorrow’s Eve showcase the new lyric video for Welcome To The Show from their album Mirror Of Creation III – Project Ikaros. SEZ THE PRESS RELEASE: “Thanks to their video artist Andy Pilkington from Very Metal Art, we can once again, with a true masterpiece of modern video art, experience the impressive and versatile complexity of the new songs.”
