Zum Raggidy | Honorable

HOME BASE: France / Jamaica.
GENRE: Reggae.
THE BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “Bless up, I’m an original artist from August Town in Kingston, Jamaica, now living in France (Nancy). I grew up through and with music, being active within the sound systems culture (live performances, dubplates, charity events and community activities) since the early ’90s. I have also participated in motivating a lot of current artists, selectors and engineers, spending most of my time uniting youths of different fractions through music, with love and respect. I express myself with an outstanding style through reggae, dancehall and old school music. I work with the new label Heights Up The Light. My first release, Honorable, promotes unity through music with a striking flow, it is a conscious and positive message addressed to all cultures. It perfectly goes along with the coming summer. I’m currently working on my first album; more singles will be coming out this year.”

Lionel Giacomini | Tenila Caru

HOME BASE: Corsica.
GENRE: Pop.
THE BIO & PRESS RELEASE: “From the first musical notes in his childhood to his practice today music has always carried Lionel Giacomini on his path, on his personal and irrepressible quest for freedom. After years of work with various Corsican musicians such as Giramondu, Notte, Alba and Voce Ventu, he now shares with us his own universe. His music is as an invitation to a journey towards the intimate, to explore new sound frontiers and let oneself be brought to a dreamlike world where the Corsican language belongs perfectly. Close your eyes, listen and feel the vibration of the song’s breath and the delicate life’s whisper resonating within you. The idea is to develop modern Corsican music from traditional song. The musical inspirations come from an indie-folk pop sound and from the production of contemporary song writers (Damien Rice, Bon Iver, etc.). The project is to bring Corsican music to this musical field there.”

Esther Pennell | Blindsided

With an innovative style on the five-string banjo, Esther makes a folk fan of all who hear her play and with a voice that has been compared to Joni Mitchell you won’t want to miss the chance to see her perform or hear her sing. A beautiful piece that brings back the smooth feeling of ’70s folk music while portraying a deep love story, Blindesided gives the tone to her new upcoming album Big Dream, to be released this spring. “Blindsided is the collaborative work between myself and songwriter Rose-Erin Stokes as part of the Canadian Songwriting Challenge of 2019. This song is about that sucker-punch feeling you get when someone breaks up with you and you didn’t see it coming. I wrote this song for the naive heart in all of us. I believe that many people can relate to the feeling of being blindsided by love and rejection.”
